Due Thursday AM--An excellent Mission Patch paragraph that includes your mission, destination, purpose, and name; a finished draft of your mission patch artwork to scan and place on your website.
Due Friday AM--Reading: 1 Quality Reading Blog entry that would earn an excellent score using the Blog Checklist posted below.
Mathematics (Due Friday AM): Study Island www.studyisland.com, Mr. D.'s Fifth Grade Falcons. Username is our 8-digit student number, all student passwords were reset to eagles5 this summer.
One assignment on Place Value, and a two-part assignment on decimals. I ask students to complete at least 15 questions for each assignment after reviewing the lesson.
Next week, I anticipate we will have the Math books scanned and ready to go home for assignments, but we will keep Study Island for practice and review.
Social Studies--(Friday AM) a creative "History Hero" mini-project on a favorite person or group of people from 4th grade history studies; answers who, what, where, when, why, how about the historic person or group. This may be an individual flipcam skit or monologue, GoAnimate, Google presentation, Google Docs article, or collection of images and links with explanatory text on a new page of your website. The emphasis is on research first, then creatively communicating what you've learned, giving credit to your sources.
